AsiaStrategy Elevates Bitcoin Focus with CEO Jason Fang’s Largest Stake
AsiaStrategy, a Nasdaq-listed entity trading as SORA, has undergone a significant transformation, pivoting from its traditional luxury watch distribution business to become a Bitcoin treasury and institutional strategy vehicle in Asia. This strategic shift is further solidified by Sora Ventures CEO Jason Fang becoming its largest effective shareholder, following a restructuring of its major shareholder, Pride River Limited. The new ownership structure, though pending consummation, sees Fang-aligned entities (Sora Vision Limited and Sora Ventures II Master Fund) holding the largest collective interest, ensuring governance alignment with the company’s Bitcoin-centric vision.
TheThe core strategy involves building a substantial regional Bitcoin position, mirroring the corporate treasury thesis popularized by U.S. firms. AsiaStrategy leverages U.S. infrastructure, with Anchorage Digital serving as its custodian and settlement partner, to facilitate its Asian distribution efforts. A key benefit of this hybrid model is the integration of its legacy watch business with its Bitcoin initiatives. For instance, the company enables Bitcoin payments for luxury watch sales and has recently begun rewarding VIP watch customers with Bitcoin gift cards, effectively bridging retail flows with its long-term Bitcoin accumulation goals. This operational synergy is supported by capital instruments like a $10 million convertible investment from WiseLink.
AsiaStrategy aims to be a leading public vehicle for Bitcoin treasury and corporate participation in Asia. It has demonstrated this ambition through strategic investments in regional Bitcoin sector names like Metaplanet and Moon Inc, and participation in consortium activities exploring market entries in Southeast Asia, including Thailand. While the company maintains that management, operations, and strategy remain unchanged, the concentrated governance around Fang-aligned entities could influence the pace of capital deployment, risk settings, and deal flow, particularly in diverse regulatory environments. The company started with 30 BTC on its balance sheet and plans to scale, emphasizing the value of combining robust U.S. infrastructure with its extensive Asian distribution network.
